we r living in a joint family and my grand father gifts the house to my uncle,gift is valid or void?

If the property is created by ur grandfather then he can give to anyone he wants. if the property is ancestral (i.e he got the property from his father/grandfather) then he cant gift it to anyone.All his sons and daughters has the share on the property. This is the law in India and i have no idea about other country's law in this matter.
